The Knot Southern California

So excited to finally be sharing this beautiful classical nautical themed wedding with you. Alison and Chris got married last year but all of us involved in this wedding have been patiently waiting to share the images because The Knot just ran it in their latest issue! Always fun to see images I took of vendors amazing work get the attention they deserve! Alison and Chris chose to get married at Alison's parents house on the coast in Newport Beach and it seriously could not have been more beautiful. I met the bride and groom at the house about two months before the wedding and when I showed up to shoot that day I was totally impressed by the work they had done in the backyard- they built the beach out to fit all of the tables! One of my favorite weddings to date .... :) Alison and Chris- hope you had a wonderful first year of marriage!!!! xoxo

Here are some words Carissa shared on her blog about her and planner extraordinaire, Courtney Toney of Joyful Weddings and Events, design choices, "alison and chris decided to get married at the bride's family vacation home on balboa island in newport beach, which they have owned for over a century - talk about history!! she knew she wanted something ocean inspired but nothing too "themey"...no starfish, no sand dollars, no messages in a bottle...based on the style of the family home, her planner, courtney toney, and i came up with more of a cape cod/martha's vineyard style affair...we wanted to highlight the more natural elements of the seaside while keeping it romantic and pretty..."

See tons of my detail shots on Carissa's blog! and check out the Fall/Winter issue of The Knot Southern CA.

A wedding in Malibu : Mandy and Travis : The Sunset Restaurant

Happy Memorial Day! Whether you were busy shooting or had the luck to find time to relax I hope you had a good weekend! Somehow I managed to keep myself free for memorial day relaxation and bbqing this year and I couldn't be more happier. It's so nice to actually share a holiday with the rest of the country instead of spending it at work-Tim and I are about *this* close to owning a house (as soon as we have keys I promise to share details but for now I don't want to jinx it!) and we are having so much fun planning all of the projects we are anxious to get started on (hellloooo kitchen remodel!)... You are all very aware at how much I thrive when I am completely swamped with projects so hopefully we'll enter this phase of life stress free. For now, just enjoying some much needed downtime before I head off to Lexington, Kentucky for the Hancock/Kruger wedding extravaganza!

Since Mandy and Travis live in the DC area and are currently on their way to moving to China for Travis's super awesome job for the US government I thought Memorial Day would be the perfect day to share their wedding images.

Coordinated by Mindy Roderick, Mandy and Travis got married at The Sunset Restaurant in Malibu. The beach was obviously a gorgeous setting but I feel compelled to share with you Mandy's amazing getting ready location- the Tuscali Mountain Inn. Seriously, if you are looking for a romantic, quiet, mountain getaway head to Topanga Canyon and stay here. Miss Jasmine, who so graciously came out to assist me that day, and I were both swooning over every detail of the property.

A wedding at La Venta Inn : Lauren and David

I'm going to let you in on a little secret- my assistant/sister preps  my blog posts. I do the selecting and the editing process but she does the resizing, the logo placing, and the uploading. I log on to the wordpress site and fill in all the blanks about the shoot but sometimes she leaves me a little note in the posts and there have been some gems! The one she left me in this post was so perfect for Lauren and David's wedding. It said, "So much laughter at this wedding!" She just couldn't have been more right. :) Lauren and David got married at the beautiful La Venta Inn in March. The event was coordinated by the lovely Heather Ham with florals by one of my Southern California favorite florists, Susan of Peony and Plum! It was such a lovely day and full of so many beautiful moments to document. Thanks for sharing your love with me!

San Francisco Bay Area Wedding Photographer : A photobooth at Nestldown

Fiona and Eric got married back in August at Nestldown in Los Gatos but I never got around to posting their super fun photo booth images! They brought a complete costume rack that their guests rummaged through, wore for the photo booth, and then carried them onto the dance floor and boogied down in them. It was marvelous to see people wearing Peter Pan hats and fairy wings dancing their hearts out!

At the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope of new possibilities.  ~Jean Houston
