Updates..

I am so excited that this week up north has been so full of love- from clients, friendly photographers now friends, friends, and family. It makes me feel wonderful to know that all my hard work trying to build my business in both southern and northern California is paying off. I so enjoy being up here and eventually will probably end up basing my business out of the Bay Area but for now it's just awesome to be able to go back and forth! Heading back to Los Angeles with a busy couple of weeks in store- excited to be back in the office with Timmy across the desk from me. We just booked tickets for the end of April to London and Dublin- can't wait to spend some time away from work together. :)

Couple images from my shoots this past weekend- little Jackson on the left and Tricia and Chris on the right.

Sneak Peek from yesterday!

Spent the afternoon working with some lovely lovely ladies and Kunal Nayyar on a shoot in and around downtown Los Angeles. Had so much fun and while I have a million more things to do before I can get to editing the rest of these I wanted to share one I worked on last night.

Revisiting Guatemala..

The end of last year was insane- like almost not manageable it was so insane- one thing I am so glad I didn't rush through and saved was finally editing my photos from Guatemala. I traveled there in August with one of my best friends, Mikey- we went to visit our great great friend and crazy adventurist Mason who has been stationed there in the Peace Corps for almost two years. You can read more and see my first batch of edits: here. Onward! We spent one of our days there visiting Lake Atitlan. In order to get there we had to seriously risk our lives riding in what I thought was going to be the last van ride of my life- but we made it to Panajachel, where we took a very small, unsafe (pattern?), boat across the lake to San Pedro. At one point on the ride to Pana, our driver pulled over and stopped at a view point area and Mikey and I's jaws just hit the ground. Guatemala is gorgeous... seriously breathtaking.

We stumbled into a "museum" and walked into a teacher giving her class a lesson. Within seconds the children saw my camera and started asking me for, "una photo senorita? una photo?" ...The volume in the room was insane when they realized they could see the photos on the back of my camera. This one is from Mikey's camera- the look on my face cracks me up every time I see it. "Say whiskey!!!!"

We also spent one day on another crazy bus ride to hike a volcano- this was a crazy experience because ya know how in most places people are concerned with safety? Yeah, not here. There was actually live hot lava. If you were dumb you literally could stick your hand out and catch yourself on fire- or say, cook yourself an omelet? But again- just a foreign landscape that took my breath away with it's beauty.

Operation Get Inspired

I've been working on some super fun stuff lately- heading out today with a stylist, some models, and Heather Kincaid to further my Operation Get Inspired. Here's just one of the images I've been working on from a shoot last weekend.

Kat Hogan- a rainy day shoot

I've been trying to take some time during the slower season to really shoot for my own creative reasons. Just like any other job you can get burnt out when you are always doing it for a paycheck so when it started raining cats and dogs I decided  I would see if I could brave the storm! We didn't have much time because it was only sprinkling when we headed out and very quickly started POURING but it was a fun experiment! Thanks to Katie for being my awesome model for the day!
