Los Angeles Engagement Photographer : Stacy and Clark : Greystone Mansion and Sunset Blvd

California had a storm! Did you hear? We got RAIN! Like, actual inches of rain. No joke, flash flood warnings in downtown Los Angeles, garbage cans being dragged down the street by rushing water, umbrella's being blown inside out kind of rain. I was staying on Heather's couch for the week and was doing some work in my home away from home office, The Coffee Bean, and a huge crack of thunder rocked through- you would have thought a spaceship had landed. Every adult in "the bean" stopped what they were doing, looked up to make eye contact with someone who they could connect with, and burst out in nervous giggles, woots, and clapping. It was magic.

But the sun came out, like is always does, and California returned to it's perpetual state of 70 degrees and sunny and I carried on with my scheduled engagement sessions! Stacy and Clark are a rare breed of pure class and style and were such an absolute joy to photograph. Clark works "in the pictures" and had so many fun ideas for images and between the three of us I think we accomplished all that we set out to accomplish. Fun, flirty, sexy, sophisticated.... Can't wait for your wedding, guys!

We started out in front of The Roxy on Sunset Blvd. Fun fact- this is where Tim and I met! :)

Stacy's hair and make up was done by the lovely ladies at Fiore Beauty- doesn't she look gorgeous???

Continuing the rock 'n roll theme we headed down to The Whisky...

To class it up a little we headed over to Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills- I love the story we were able to tell here!

Bay Area Engagement Photographer : Amber and Dave : Old Town Pasadena, CA

Wanted to share something that touched me this week. I am a sucker for things that tug at my heart strings. Anyone know what this is a commercial for? ;)

Millions of people, everyone after themselves.

Can this really be the only way? No.

Here’s to honour, and to galantry, long may it live. Here’s to doing the right thing, to giving a damn. Here’s to the straight talkers, who give their word and keep it.

Here’s to freedom wherever you find it, and knowing the true meaning of wealth. Here’s to the brave among us. Here’s to a code of behaviour that sets certain men apart from all others. Here’s to us.

Live with chivalry.

Well! This session is a result of cabin fever. The storm that took California hostage also created havoc on my delicate schedule. Thank goodness the sun returned Saturday morning and the skies cleared for Amber and Dave's engagement session in Old Town Pasadena. They are so super cute and were down for anything, which is always a plus. Nothing better than a client who trusts me completely! Amber is doing some blogging over at wedding bee- follow her wedding plans here! Enjoy!

Live with chivalry.

Bay Area Wedding Photographer : Lauren and Josh : Engaged!

Lauren and Josh were my last engagement session of the year and seriously, talk about going out with a bang! They were only going to be in town for a quick holiday trip filled with meetings since they are currently planning their Los Angeles wedding from the east coast. So, we scheduled an early morning shoot which was to include coffee, croissants, and beautiful morning light. Mother nature intervened and grounded all flights out of Virgina due to weather the day before our scheduled session so we quickly developed a back up plan and Lauren and Josh were such troopers! They must have been exhausted from a long two days of travel but they showed up with smiles and I think we all had such a great time! Many thanks to Josh’s sister for her help, this session would not have gone as planned without her. :)

On another note, 2009 was an awesome year for me and I can’t wait to see what 2010 has to bring. Hope you all will be safe and happy tomorrow night! Happy New Year everyone!!!!! !

Rosemary & Chris : Engaged! - Meg Perotti Wedding Photographer

This post is near and dear to my heart and I know a lot of other people who are near and dear to me will be reading this one too. <3 all you! Rosemary and Chris are great friends of mine- Rosemary and I commiserated over cubicle life at Architectural Digest for a couple years and when she and her fiance Chris moved literally down the street from Tim and I we struck up a most lovely friendship outside of work too! In fact, Tim and I shed tears last year in their apartment when Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States so now we share a "Remember when?" moment together and those are for a lifetime.

These images did not happen overnight- ooooh no, we've been emailing about them long before there was a ring. Which is tooootally okay in my book- we both shared a lot of ideas as to what would be the best way to show something about them and at the same time be editorial and creative. Books and music were natural places to land on for them. Chris works in a library and is a musician and Rosemary is a writer/editor (She also writes a blog called Booking It Bus Style about her book adventures while taking Los Angeles Public Transportation!). They were troopers- rented a U-Haul van and hauled some of their furniture and lots and lots of books out to our location where we set up a mock living room and started shooting away!

Thank you guys so much for giving me the honor of being your wedding photographer- your love is so great and I am so so thankful that I can play a part in your story! Love you!

Without further ado- I give you: "My darling, My Hamburger"

Nicole and Jimmy : Engaged! Palace of Fine Arts and Baker Beach

So this session I will hold near and dear to my heart for the rest of my life- Jimmy and Nicole you guys are permanently engraved into my story- hope that's okay with you guys! Directly after finishing up their shoot at beautiful Baker Beach, Tim casually recommended we stick around to watch the sun finish setting over the horizon and you all know the story from there. Engaged! (eeek!) We started out at The Palace of Fine Arts which is such a San Francisco gem and then with Tim's help, we wound up with some of the most stunning photos I think I have ever taken at a beach- not sure I've ever captured a sunset as perfect as this one. I think the feel of the images speak for themselves- Jimmy and Nicole are perfect for each other and their laughter and quiet love really shines through!
