Bay Area Portrait Photographer : Newborns : Baby Olivia
I am old. Officially old- friends from high school are getting married, having babies, buying houses…. and I am loving it! My first shoot of the new year was this beautiful little lamb Olivia- born on December 22nd to the ever lovely Melissa and John. I remember it like it was yesterday Melissa… hanging out in your Santa Barbara dorm room freshmen year drinking vodka out of water bottles. Those were the days!

Bay Area and Los Angeles Wedding Photographer : Thoughts on 2009
The New Year, for business owners, brings reflection. Our tax cycle is over, our 2009 client folders can be retired, and our hard drives backed up, saved, and archived. Thinking about where I was a year ago is almost overwhelming. As I glance over my 2009 goals list I made last year at WPPI I am amazed, and dare I say proud of myself, at all that I have accomplished. This year was not easy, it was extremely busy, filled with the stress of creating your own paychecks, and the hope that you will find your clients fulfilled and happy. But, this year was splendid in a way that no year has ever been. I am my own boss and there is nothing better than that. Yes, when sh*t hits the fan, it is my mess to clean up. I am not going to lie, there have been times when I wished I had someone higher up to straighten things out or make decisions- but I am forever learning, as a business owner should, and I cannot wait to take on the lessons 2010 will teach me.
Most importantly, 2009 has been FUN. Thanks to all my amazing clients for trusting my ability to document your love. You are forever part of the Meg Perotti story and I love you all to pieces!

Bay Area Wedding Photographer : Lauren and Josh : Engaged!
Lauren and Josh were my last engagement session of the year and seriously, talk about going out with a bang! They were only going to be in town for a quick holiday trip filled with meetings since they are currently planning their Los Angeles wedding from the east coast. So, we scheduled an early morning shoot which was to include coffee, croissants, and beautiful morning light. Mother nature intervened and grounded all flights out of Virgina due to weather the day before our scheduled session so we quickly developed a back up plan and Lauren and Josh were such troopers! They must have been exhausted from a long two days of travel but they showed up with smiles and I think we all had such a great time! Many thanks to Josh’s sister for her help, this session would not have gone as planned without her. 
On another note, 2009 was an awesome year for me and I can’t wait to see what 2010 has to bring. Hope you all will be safe and happy tomorrow night! Happy New Year everyone!!!!! !
It was almost pitch black by the time we headed back down the hill but we couldn’t leave without cleaning stuff up and I caught this shot as we were cleaning off the feathers… that’s only two pillows worth!!!!!

Everything has a place.
Things are slowly being put in their place. Funny how objects that held such purpose in our old home are of no use here- what a learning experience! Tim spent the day trying to make the office closet functional for us and I attempted to organize the laundry room- doing a load of laundry is pretty spectacular!
