Los Angeles Engagement Photographer : Stacy and Clark : Greystone Mansion and Sunset Blvd

California had a storm! Did you hear? We got RAIN! Like, actual inches of rain. No joke, flash flood warnings in downtown Los Angeles, garbage cans being dragged down the street by rushing water, umbrella’s being blown inside out kind of rain. I was staying on Heather’s couch for the week and was doing some work in my home away from home office, The Coffee Bean, and a huge crack of thunder rocked through- you would have thought a spaceship had landed. Every adult in “the bean” stopped what they were doing, looked up to make eye contact with someone who they could connect with, and burst out in nervous giggles, woots, and clapping. It was magic.

But the sun came out, like is always does, and California returned to it’s perpetual state of 70 degrees and sunny and I carried on with my scheduled engagement sessions! Stacy and Clark are a rare breed of pure class and style and were such an absolute joy to photograph. Clark works “in the pictures” and had so many fun ideas for images and between the three of us I think we accomplished all that we set out to accomplish. Fun, flirty, sexy, sophisticated…. Can’t wait for your wedding, guys!

We started out in front of The Roxy on Sunset Blvd. Fun fact- this is where Tim and I met! :)

Stacy’s hair and make up was done by the lovely ladies at Fiore Beauty- doesn’t she look gorgeous???

Continuing the rock ‘n roll theme we headed down to The Whisky…

To class it up a little we headed over to Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills- I love the story we were able to tell here!

I love the shots of her in the more relaxed sweater and jeans. They look so in love and natural and it looks like moments you would want to remember.

This land is your land, this land is my land.

I was reminded why I love California with all of my heart while driving back to the bay area from Los Angeles last week.

Bay Area Engagement Photographer : Amber and Dave : Old Town Pasadena, CA

Wanted to share something that touched me this week. I am a sucker for things that tug at my heart strings. Anyone know what this is a commercial for? ;)

Millions of people, everyone after themselves.

Can this really be the only way? No.

Here’s to honour, and to galantry, long may it live.
Here’s to doing the right thing, to giving a damn.
Here’s to the straight talkers, who give their word and keep it.

Here’s to freedom wherever you find it, and knowing the true meaning of wealth.
Here’s to the brave among us.
Here’s to a code of behaviour that sets certain men apart from all others.
Here’s to us.

Live with chivalry.

Well! This session is a result of cabin fever. The storm that took California hostage also created havoc on my delicate schedule. Thank goodness the sun returned Saturday morning and the skies cleared for Amber and Dave’s engagement session in Old Town Pasadena. They are so super cute and were down for anything, which is always a plus. Nothing better than a client who trusts me completely! Amber is doing some blogging over at wedding bee- follow her wedding plans here! Enjoy!

Live with chivalry.

The Drybar : No cuts, no colors, just blow outs : $35

A couple of  months ago I did some commercial photos for Alli Webb’s new Brentwood hair venture, The Dry Bar. You know that awesome blow-out your hair stylist gives you when you go get a cut and color that lasts for two days (or three… or four…) ?? Well, that’s just what The Dry Bar offers…. you can pop by and get your hair did for that big interview, mtg, date, or weekend for just $35! They have a menu full of super fun style options named after yummy cocktails like, The Mai Tai (messy, beachy),The Manhatten (sleek and smooth) or The Cosmopolitan (loose curls). They are opening soon but are already booking month passes and offering tons of great deals so check it out and tell Alli I sent you! I might just be sitting in the chair next to you ;)

Check out this super cute video of Alli putting some finishing touches on the window’s at The Dry Bars Brentwood location opening soon!

I will admit that I spoiled myself a bit, before having little ones. Okay… Maybe a lot. When I was having a bad hair day (2+ times a week), I would go to the salon just to get my hair styled. This glmaour cost me about 60 bucks a pop, so I for one, LOVE THIS IDEA! I mean I REALLY, REALLY LOVE THIS IDEA! I think your get the point. I cannot wait until the photo section is up on the website, so I can see your amazing work close up Meg!
