Happy 4th of July!
This morning I slept in (well for me, 9AM felt great) .. I plan to head to the Coffee Bean, relax, take a nice long trip to the gym, then eat some BBQ with Echo Park/Los Feliz/ Silverlake kids.
This isn’t our normal 4th of July and Timmy is punishing me for it. His sad little face this morning prompted me to make this statement, “From here on out, 4th of July weekend will be my one weekend of the summer I am unavailable for weddings!” Even though I am so excited for Ileana and Carlos’s beautiful event tomorrow at The Victorian in Santa Monica, I’m pretty bummed we’re missing the block party that has taken place on the street I grew up since I was, perhaps, 5 or so. Anyone who knows me, knows how much my family means to me and missing this particular event for some reason feels painful! It was our families tradition and now, 5 1/2 years into Tim and I’s relationship it’s become our tradition and we’re missing it this year. Never fear though, as Tim said minutes ago from over his computer screen, “We’ll make it through this year, learn our lesson, and be there next year.”
So Ileana and Carlos this year, Arbor Dr. next year! All is well, HAPPY 4th OF JULY!
(Some Arbor Dr. pics from last year.)

Dear Meg,
I am so sorry that you had to miss your traditional block party and family reunion for my daughter’s wedding. We too are very family oriented, and I do not take your sacrifice for granted. I am honored, though, that you were our photographer, and feel very fortunate that you hadn’t made your 4th of July vow yet. Let Tim and your family know of our deepest regrets for keeping you from them, and thank them for sharing you with us. It meant so much to us to have you photograph Ileana and Carlos’ wedding. The love and joy you bring to your art touches all those you encounter. We are truly grateful for the gift you offered us. May you be filled with many blessings as you have blessed us with your genuine presence.
Gratefully yours,
Giselle and Matthew
