Sarah and Brian – Newland Barn, Huntington Beach
Heather Kincaid, Ryel J, and I all headed out in late October to shoot the picture perfect wedding of Sarah and Brian and the Newland Barn in Huntington Beach! These were some of my most favorite images of the year and I have been dying to get to blog editing these! Brian and Sarah did such a great job planning this wedding- they both have so much style and spunk that it was almost impossible for them to NOT throw a creative affair! They themed everything around a vintage type-writer, really doesn’t get cooler than that
Heather headed to the guys place while Ryel and I covered Sarah’s getting ready moments at her moms home in Long Beach.
Sarah and Brian have the most beautiful daughter, Shae. You might remember her from this post!
Sarah had these pins made for all of her bridal party, only she had the “bride” pin though, of course!
After the ceremony, we all headed down to the pier at Huntington Beach to take some fun formals!
This next shot is ALL Miss Heather – check out her blog soon I’m sure for the rest of her images. Just wanted to get SOME of the boys up here and Heather was all over their group shots! She is super duper talented, isn’t she???
Mk back to me- the gals workin’ it.
As the sun set we all headed to the barn for the reception. More typewriters! This was their guestbook.
INTRODUCING the GUEST GALLERY!
For those of you who don’t particularly care about candid photos of cousin Jimmy stuffing his face with prime rib I’m introducing another option. (Not that I mind taking photos of cousin Jimmy.. stuffing his face…;) ) But for those who DON’T care- why not let cousin Jimmy get the picture of all the guests eating around the table and bring on the professional portrait booth! I am calling it the GUEST GALLERY. Sarah and Brian had the GUEST GALLERY in their package and I think it ended up being SUCH a cool addition to their photos. We were able to get great portraits of most of the guests in attendance and really captured their personalities. Here are a few of my favs, but click on the GUEST GALLERY link at the top of the page to view a larger sample gallery. Thanks to Ryel J for coming out and manning the booth for the night! If there are any guests of Sarah and Brian that are interested in getting one of these printed, don’t hesitate to contact me and I’ll direct you to the online gallery!
Sarah and Brian, you guys had me so choked up during your ceremony. Really, the love you two share really just oozes out of you and your happiness and joy is so apparent in these photos. Congratulations on everything, you guys are awesome!

Jasmine and Alex : A Wedding : Wayfarers Chapel, Rancho Palos Verdes
Oh good god, I am embarrassed by how long ago this wedding took place- forgive me Jasmine and Alex? (I was not kidding when I kept saying I was backlogged- lots of weddings on the way
) But I never forgot!!! You guys might remember them from their lovely engagement shoot we did in downtown Los Angeles back in June. These two have the most remarkable spirits and their wedding day reflected that in every way. It was tough to catch a shot of Jasmine NOT busting out in infectious laughter. Their ceremony took place at the lovely Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes on a beautiful fall evening. Because their ceremony was later in the evening my lovely assistant that day, the one and only Heather Kincaid, and I did a lot of work with off camera lighting, mainly the Lowell ID light. Their reception was held in Alex’s parents home near the chapel and was such a beautiful, intimate affair- sometimes a pretty backyard is really all you need guys!
Anyhow, enough chatter-
Jasmine and Alex opted for a first look right before the ceremony so we would have enough light for formals. GOOD THINKING
Are you there Ilford 3200? , it’s me digital
Jasmine is also an extremely talented makeup artist, you can check her lovely portfolio out at www.jasminemakeup.com She does wedding makeup too, so get in touch with her about your day!! Who wouldn’t want this smiling face to be a part of their wedding? Can’t wait ’til I can hire you!!
You guys rock! Margarita’s soon for old times sake?
P.S. Since all you reading made it this far- why not click the link below and leave me some love?

Amber and Nathan : Married! – Camarillo Ranch – Camarillo, CA
So the time has come- be prepared to view some weddings over the next couple weeks. Thanks to my clients for being so patient, who would have thought I’d be so so busy! I am ashamed to say that this wedding, shot with the lovely and ever present Heather Kincaid, was back in mid September-it was a gorgeous pre-fall day at Camarillo Ranch. This location was really amazing- full of charm and great backdrops for the creative types like us! Amber and Nathan were full of love and admiration for each other and it was a blessing to be a part of such a beautiful day! (I am trying some new things with the image sizes on this blog and want some feedback- do you like them big? do they take forever to load? …)
The only way to get photos like the following is to do a FIRST LOOK!

I love that your shoes were the color of the bridesmaid dresses. Very cute details, by any chance is the shoes vintage? Where did you get them?
