Hutchi and Ben : A Southern Wedding in Kentucky : The cover of Kentucky Brides Magazine

Happy Weekend!

I have been waiting to share this wedding for almost a year now! I can’t hardly believe that it’s been that long since I first stepped foot in stunning Kentucky for Hutchi and Ben’s beautiful wedding at Stone Farm. When my assistant and friend, Karen, and I got off the plane we really weren’t prepared to absolutely fall in love with the blue grass state- but we were immediately taken with the gorgeous landscapes, adorable farm houses, horse culture, and sprawling land. Living next door to me in Los Angeles, Hutchi and Ben have been friends of mine for years and I couldn’t have been more honored to have been the one there to document their day. Special thanks to Miss Karen for battling the heat neither one of us was used to and running around all day making sure everyone was hydrated! Anyhow, this was literally one of my favorite weddings of my entire career for so many reasons and I am so excited to finally share it with you!

I also want to share that Hutchi and Ben are on the cover of this months Kentucky Bride Magazine!

I have a ton more images to share than ran in the magazine so… put on some blue grass music and get ready…. :)

Bay Area Wedding Photographer : A Wedding at Kohl Mansion : Erin and Scott

So excited to see Erin and Scotts beautiful Kohl Mansion wedding featured today over at Elizabeth Anne Designs!

Because we got married in November we had to choose a venue that had an indoor reception space but it’s no secret that I prefer outdoor weddings. There is something so magical about twinkling lights, dancing under the stars, sun set toasts… but there are a small handful of venues in the bay area that are indoor/outdoor that I just *love* to shoot in and one is Kohl Mansion. This place has such rich history… rooms that speak of secret passageways and you can almost picture the Downton Abbey style “help” moving around dusting and serving grand meals in the dining room. When I was a little girl, my great Auntie Mary, who was a nun, used to live on the same property as Kohl and we used to roam the halls looking for books that opened secret rooms and play hide and seek so it’s always a treat for me to go back there…. Erin and Scott are just treasure type clients … working with them was such a breeze and their wedding day reflected that.

Onward to images! :) Enjoy!

Bay Area Wedding Photographer : Megan and Kevin tie the knot at The Olympic Club in San Francisco

This coming weekend I have my first wedding of 2012 so it only feels right to blog my last wedding of 2011- FINALLY. Believe it or not, I still have a few weddings from 2011 to share that have been held up for one reason or another so if you haven’t seen yours up here yet- stay tuned!

Megan was really a bride after my own heart- she had me with her emerald engagement ring- what a DREAM! I had such a great time communicating with her about all of her wedding details and working with her and her family was just a dream. Megan and Kevin tied the knot at the gorgeous St. Josephs Cathedral in downtown San Jose followed by a beautiful reception up at The Olympic Club. It was such a great way to end my 2011 season! Onward!

Bay Area Wedding Photographer : Published : Green Wedding Shoes + Magnolia Rouge Magazine

Near the end of last year I started to feel like I hadn’t done anything fun in awhile. I was really yearning to shoot some images of pretty things that didn’t come with the pressure to perform that a wedding did. I happened to come across the first issue of Magnolia Rouge and immediately wanted to be a part of issue 2! Kate was such a doll and when she told me Issue 2′s theme was Nature, I reached out to Yelena and we started brainstorming. What ended up as our final product was something a little bit beautiful and a little bit freaky and I love it!

Check out the incredible issue 2 of Mag Rouge here and visit Green Wedding Shoes for my recent feature.

Magnolio Rouge : Issue 2

I had the utmost pleasure of working with Yelena Johnson on a shoot for the second issue of Magnolia Rouge Magazine … The issue was nature themed and we had so much fun exploring a scientific approach to a wedding!

Check out the new issue here and stay tuned for more images from this shoot to run on my blog soon. :)
