CJ, Dustin, and Alyssa : Engaged + Family! Irvine, CA
When I first met CJ and Dustin at The Farm in LA’s The Grove we cliqued instantly. Spent the morning chatting about wedding plans and life plans and drank lots of drinks with caffeine in them. (I think Dustin had had two coffees and a Rock Star before he even showed up at brunch!) CJ and Dustin told me about Dustin’s daughter Alyssa and how she loved photography and how they loved her and how much they wanted her to be a part of their big day. We talked about how they wanted to incorporate her into their engagement images and decided to plan a shoot in their neck of the woods and blend engagement images with some family flair! I think we accomplished just that- can’t wait for your November wedding guys! And Alyssa- I checked out your DeviantArt page- that blue hair is something else and those flower photos are gorgeous- you rock, love!

Yum! Hello rays of sunshine!

Welcome to this world Ivy Cat!
Kate and Jason are no strangers to this blog- their engagement images are here, I unfortunately had to skip their wedding, but followed up with Kate’s pregnancy photos here. And it is with pleasure that I now introduce you all to their newest addition- Ivy Cat! After a long unpredicatble labor Ivy Catherine Schatz Pontius entered this world on July 1, 2009! We are all so happy to meet her and are prepared to shower her with absolutely nothing but love for the rest of her life. I’ve never shot a newborn before- I consider myself a pretty well rounded photographer but have really been focused on primarily weddings for the past two years so this was an experience! She was definitely easier to handle once she entered into a food induced swaddled coma. She better get used to having her photo taken because lord knows I can’t wait to document her life! Congrats Kate and Jason- all my love.

Thanks for trusting me, Kate. Worth it!

Kate : Pregnancy Session
The afternoon my best friend Aubrey called to tell me her sister, Kate, was pregnant I started planning this session in my mind. You might remember her from this engagement session. Kate got pregnant shortly after her wedding to the lovely Jason and we are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of her and Jason’s little Ivy Catherine Schatz Pontius- or Ivy Cat for short. I think Kate wears pregnancy beautifully and it was such a joy to photograph and document this exciting time! (even if it did mean stripping down in a strangers barn…for her.. not me..) Kate is currently writing a blog about her adventures in pregnancy- check it out here!

I can’t wait for Ivy to arrive so I can starting documenting her life!

View All CommentsI’m now 19 and experiencing being a dad. I must say although it feels good it’s still hard. I knew it wouldn’t be easy but to be honest, the hard part is having to balance time. My daughter is great and makes managing her never dreadful. -Teen dad

More Perotti’s- David, Lisa, Colin, and Jackson
I might be biased but I think Perotti kids are the cutest kids.
Lisa and I have been talking about doing a session of their family for some time now and finally were able to schedule it last month. David is my cousin, making Jackson and Colin my 2nd cousins? That can’t seem right- that seems too distant. I think I’ll just drop the 2nd and keep them as my cousins. At any rate, they are adorable and I had such a great time shooting them and their parents! It isn’t exactly customary of me to post 35 photos from a family session but I can’t help it- I’m personally tied to these and just can’t leave any of my favorites out- so suffer through the cuteness, k?
Colin and Jackson

Remember what I said about Perotti kids being the cutest? How can you deny it???

Thanks for a lovely afternoon guys and for all your support!!!!!

View All Commentslove your photos! just stumbled upon your blog. btw, they would be your “first cousins, once removed” just imagine a tree, and you are next to your cousin David, and since those kids are one step below you, it is once removed. if you have children, then those kids would be 2nd cousins with each other because they are on the same level. 2nd only because they are the children of 1st cousins.
okay i hope it makes sense. someone taught me this at work.

Updates..
I am so excited that this week up north has been so full of love- from clients, friendly photographers now friends, friends, and family. It makes me feel wonderful to know that all my hard work trying to build my business in both southern and northern California is paying off. I so enjoy being up here and eventually will probably end up basing my business out of the Bay Area but for now it’s just awesome to be able to go back and forth! Heading back to Los Angeles with a busy couple of weeks in store- excited to be back in the office with Timmy across the desk from me. We just booked tickets for the end of April to London and Dublin- can’t wait to spend some time away from work together.
Couple images from my shoots this past weekend- little Jackson on the left and Tricia and Chris on the right.
