Arizona #1- The Warrens
Whew!!!
Here is the first Arizona post, there will be another one after this so keep checking back. My cousin’s wife, Bonnie set up this shoot with her good friends Aimee and Joe. Bonnie and I had had a late night of Mojitos and dancing so we were both prepped with our Iced Lattes when we arrived. I was greeted by the most dazzling little baby Cecilia and promptly joined by her older sister Madeleine. They had the greatest backyard so we took advantage of the nice morning light and just started shooting away!
When shooting little babies I like to get my camera out as soon as possible so they get used to what’s going on. Aimee and Joe were still getting ready in the house with Madeleine so I used the quiet time to just get some personal time in with Cecilia. Isn’t she sweet?
So many expressions…
Here’s Madeleine! She was *not* camera shy and I loved it. Seriously, she took direction extremely well for her age and was really down to business. I really love these shots…I think expression is the most important thing to catch in little kids. They go through so many so quickly and are so unaware of the camera and themselves that it’s easy to catch who they really are. Some of my favorites…

So then we sat down to play a bit and get some sisterly interaction. This is when the breakdown occurred.
It seemed to be fixed by a bottle and a little dissapearing act from mom.. and a lot of “soft voices” and “slow movements” …

I just love Cecilia’s face here… “Um.. what the..???”

Then we sat down for a couple formalish shots. These kind of photographs aren’t what people hire me for but I think they came out very sweet- those white dresses were *too* perfect!

Thank you guys so much for spending your morning and sharing your home with me!

What a sweet family!!! I too love the black & white of the sisters hugging. You nailed this session. I’m in LA often, would love to meet up for some coffee and conversation.
